On May 23, 2017, the first meeting of the newly elected Representative Council was held at Sokhumi State University. It was attended by 21 members of the Board. The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor of the Faculty of Law, senior member of the council Lili Gelukashvili. Representative Council by open ballot, unanimously selected Larisa Takalandze, professor of Economics and Business, as a Speaker of the Representative Council.
