On June 2, 2023, the
Rector of Sokhumi State University, President of the Academy of Educational
Sciences, Professor Zurab Khonelidze presented
a report to students involved in the activities of the Jean Monnet Module funded
by the ERASMUS+ program at Sokhumi State University entitled: "The New Mission of the University and
the European Perspective of Georgia". The Rector spoke about recent developments,
the new mission of the University and the importance of youth involvement in
the peace building process, In his report, the Rector emphasized the need to
identify the potential opportunities that are due to the integration with the
European Union. the report aroused great interest among the students - all the
questions they asked were comprehensively answered.
At the end, Larisa
Takalandze, coordinator of the Jean Monnet Module, and the students expressed
their heartfelt thanks to Mr. Zurab for his interesting lecture and sharing his
rich experience in the field of Peace Education.
