New Syllabus Presentation within the Jean Monnet Module EUPEACE

On February 10, 2025, a meeting was held at the Sokhumi State University, where the discussed new teaching course "Georgian Peace Paradigm and EU Peacebuilding" within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module EUPEACE. At the meeting, Professor Zurab Khonelidze (Academic Leader of the project) and Peace Education Center Director, Levan Geradze (Administrative Personell) of the project presented the goals, content and teaching methods of syllabus.

The meeting was attended by the Speaker of Representative Council, Associate Professor Nino Tophuridze, the Head of the Administration, Professor David Jalaghonia, the Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the University, Associate Professor Romeo Galdava, the Chief Specialist of the same service, Associate Professor Marine Khubua, the Head of the Language Center, Associate Professor Maia Daraselia, the staff members of the Department of Scientific Research and Development and students. The issue of compliance of the new syllabus with accreditation standards was also discussed at the meeting (see Syllabus).

Additionally, the participants thoroughly examined the alignment of the new syllabus with accreditation standards. The members of the Jean Monnet Module EUPEACE working group also introduced the attendees to the SSU Academic Council's Resolution No.05/01-239 (dated 31.01.2025), according to which the new course has been incorporated as a compulsory subject in the Bachelor's Program in Political Science, while for students of other University programs, it is offered as an elective course, in compliance with accreditation standards (see Resolution).
